Webinar Description: There is significant variation in the surgical management of endometriosis and a lack of consensus among specialists about the optimal surgical result. Recent data from high volume centers suggests that complete excision of endometriosis (all visible, radiographically diagnosed, and palpable disease) leads to sustained benefit in terms of pain relief and reduces the risk of reoperation. There is also some evidence to suggest that this approach has a fertility benefit. However, individual considerations need to be taken with this approach, especially when fertility is a priority. This webinar will critically analyze the available literature, identify areas for productive discussion, and equip surgeons with the steps needed to achieve consistent surgical results using an individualized patient-centered approach.
Webinar Course Objective(s):
1. Understand the planning and surgical approach necessary to achieve an optimal endometriosis surgery for pain
2. Evaluate unique considerations for an optimal surgery for the infertility population
