Recent data from high volume centers suggests that complete excision of endometriosis (all visible\, radiographically diagnosed\, and palpable disease) leads to sustained benefit in terms of pain relief and reduces the risk of reoperation. There is also some evidence to suggest that this approach has a fertility benefit. However\, individual considerations need to be taken with this approach\, especially when fertility is a priority.
