SUMMARY:AAGL Endometriosis SIG Webinar: Defining an Optimal Surgery for Endometriosis
DESCRIPTION:AAGL Endometriosis SIG Webinar: Click here to register. \nWebinar Topic: Defining an Optimal Surgery for Endometriosis \nPresented by: \nJessica Opoku-Anane\, MD\, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School\,\nNew Brunswick\, NJ\nTopic Title: Ending the Pain: Strategic Surgical Planning and Precision Excision for Endometriosis \nAntonio Gargiulo\, MD\, Fertility Centers of New England – Boston\, Boston\, MA\nTopic Title: Endometrioma Management: Knowing if\, When and How to Intervene \nModerated by: \nVictoria Vargas\, MD\, MS \nWebinar Description: There is significant variation in the surgical management of endometriosis and a lack of consensus among specialists about the optimal surgical result. Recent data from high volume centers suggests that complete excision of endometriosis (all visible\, radiographically diagnosed\, and palpable disease) leads to sustained benefit in terms of pain relief and reduces the risk of reoperation. There is also some evidence to suggest that this approach has a fertility benefit. However\, individual considerations need to be taken with this approach\, especially when fertility is a priority. This webinar will critically analyze the available literature\, identify areas for productive discussion\, and equip surgeons with the steps needed to achieve consistent surgical results using an individualized patient-centered approach. \nWebinar Course Objective(s):\n1. Understand the planning and surgical approach necessary to achieve an optimal endometriosis surgery for pain\n2. Evaluate unique considerations for an optimal surgery for the infertility population

SUMMARY:AAGL/ESGE Webinar Series: Come Sail Away Part 1: Masterful Navigation of Surgical Anatomy Through Pelvic Spaces and Ureteral Frontiers
DESCRIPTION:AAGL/ESGE Webinar Webinar Series – Webinar #1\nClick here to register.\n \nWebinar Topic: Come Sail Away Part 1: Masterful Navigation of Surgical Anatomy Through Pelvic Spaces and Ureteral Frontiers \nPresented By: \nSarah Choi\, MD (AAGL)\, Sydney Women’s Endosurgery Centre\, Sydney Australia\nTopic Title: You Should be the Captain of the Ship Through the Pelvis and Retroperitoneum \nHélder Ferreira\, MD\, PhD\, MBA (ESGE)\, Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Santo António\, Porto\, Portugal\nTopic Title: Ureteral Frontiers in Superficial and Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis \nModerated By:\nCara King\, DO\, MS (AAGL) and Benoit Rabischong\, MD\, PhD (ESGE) \nWebinar Description: Laparoscopy with or without robotic assistance for benign\, deeply infiltrating\, or malignant disease pose several challenges to minimally invasive gynecologic surgeons. To perform safe and effective surgery\, the surgeon should have precise knowledge of anatomical structures and retroperitoneal spaces. As the captain of the patient’s surgical journey\, the surgeon should have the knowledge and skills to navigate through calm or rough conditions in the pelvis and abdomen and travel through spaces and around visceral and vascular structures. In extremely challenging and innovative cases\, thorough anatomical knowledge will guide some surgeons to go where few surgeons have gone before to arrive to a successful surgical destination. \nWebinar Objectives: At the conclusion of this webinar\, the pelvic surgeon will be able to: 1) Recognize anatomical landmarks\, retroperitoneal spaces\, and pelvic visceral and vascular structures pertinent to laparoscopic and robotic-assisted gynecologic surgery to perform basis\, intermediate\, or advanced procedures. 2) To understand minimally invasive surgical techniques to enter and expose pelvic avascular spaces\, parametrial ligaments\, pelvic vessels and nerves and their anatomical relationships to the ureter and other retroperitoneal structures. 3) To demonstrate challenging cases and skillful steps in managing deep infiltrating endometriosis\, radical hysterectomy\, and uterine transplantation.

SUMMARY:AAGL/Romanian Society of Minimally Invasive Surgery in Gynecology Webinar: Radical Trachelectomy in Reproductive Aged Women: Balancing Oncologic Surgery and Fertility Goals
DESCRIPTION:AAGL/Romanian Society of Minimally Invasive Surgery in Gynecology Webinar:\nClick here to register.\n \nWebinar Topic: Radical Trachelectomy in Reproductive Aged Women: Balancing Oncologic Surgery and Fertility Goals \nPresented By: \nMihnea-Andrei Nicodin\, MD\, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy\, Bucharest\, Romania \nModerated By: \nNicolae Suciu\, MD\, PhD\, Dr.h.c.\nPresident of the Romanian Society of Minimally Invasive Surgery in Gynecology \nWebinar Description: Vaginal radical trachelectomy (VTR) has revolutionized fertility-sparing surgery in cases of early-stage cervical cancer\, offering hope to women wishing to preserve reproductive potential without compromising oncologic safety. First pioneered by Dargent in 1994\, this minimal invasive surgical technique enables removal of the cervix and parameters while maintaining the uterus\, thus enabling the patient to achieve future pregnancies. \nThis webinar will explore the surgical technique of VRT\, highlighting operative steps\, including uterine artery preservation\, parametrial resection\, and the critical role of isthmic cerclage. We will discuss patient selection criteria\, identifying optimal candidates and situations where alternative approaches are indicated. \nParticipants will gain valuable knowledge into oncologic outcomes\, recurrence risks\, and how key tumor characteristics—such as tumor size\, lymphovascular space invasion\, and deep stromal invasion—impact prognosis. The session will also explore the fertility and obstetric outcomes following VRT\, addressing pregnancy rates\, common complications such as cervical insufficiency and preterm birth\, and strategies to optimize reproductive success\, including cerclage placement and surveillance protocols during pregnancy. \nEmerging innovations\, such as sentinel lymph node mapping and neoadjuvant chemotherapy for larger tumors\, will also be reviewed\, alongside future directions aimed at improving both cancer control and fertility preservation. \nBy the end of this session\, attendees will be equipped with practical knowledge to counsel and manage reproductive-aged women considering VRT\, balancing oncologic safety with the desire for future childbearing.

Palmer\, MD \nWebinar Description: Most MIGS surgeons rely on ultrasound reports rather than the images themselves\, yet high quality pelvic surgery increasingly demands a working knowledge of pelvic sonoanatomy. This webinar will provide a practical\, surgeon focused overview of gynecologic and adjacent pelvic structures on transvaginal ultrasound\, including bowel\, bladder\, ureters\, and other non gynecologic sites relevant to endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain. Building on this anatomical foundation\, we will then explore how specific sonographic findings correlate with symptoms\, function\, and reproductive outcomes across common pelvic conditions. Attendees will leave with a stronger mental map of the pelvis on ultrasound and a glimpse of what is coming next in advanced pelvic imaging\, including pelvic floor muscles\, nerves\, and vascularity. \nWebinar Course Objective(s):\n1. Identify key transvaginal ultrasound landmarks of normal pelvic sonoanatomy\, including uterus\, ovaries\, adnexa\, and surrounding pelvic compartments.\n2. Recognize adjacent non-gynecologic pelvic structures on ultrasound\, such as bowel\, bladder\, and ureters\, that are commonly involved in endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain.\n3. Outline emerging applications of advanced pelvic imaging\, including pelvic floor muscles\, nerves\, and vascularity\, and describe how these may inform future MIGS practice.\n4. Correlate specific sonographic findings in common pelvic conditions with patient-reported symptoms\, functional impact\, and patterns of pelvic pain.\n5. Relate pelvic ultrasound findings to reproductive outcomes and counseling\, including implications for fertility and surgical decision-making.
